About Kayleigh
Kayleigh Efird is a London based multidisciplinary artist and researcher with a sensitivity towards color and performance. Her work is no stranger to the absurd and otherworldly, being inspired by adobe flash games, the lovable cast of the Muppets, and baroque painting. Kayleigh began her artistic pursuits as a high school student at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She achieved her BFA in textiles and illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art and her MA in Renaissance art history, cultures, and curatorship from the Warburg Institute. She has professionally collaborated with performers, filmmakers and musicians including Secret Shame, Fools on the Hill Collective, and Rosie Beret. She is a represented illustrator with Astound Us Agency and her illustrations have been published by Penguin Random House UK, Castle Point Books, and Trader Joe's. Kayleigh's work conceptually explores the relationship between historical images and contemporary experiences; interrogating how we consider history, fantasy, and environment in both physical and digital realms.
